All in all, it was quite an eventful -- and successful --  Saturday for the Hamline women's tennis team. Jordan Danielson, Shamara Duwearatchi, Maggie Gibson and Lilli Dennison won both at singles and doubles as the Pipers overwhelmed UW-Stout (a late stand-in for Mount Marty), 9-0, and Bethany Lutheran, 8-1, at the U of Minnesota. 

Hamline improved to 3-4 overall with the sweep, which came one day after an 8-1 loss to Bethel. 

HU came out swinging against the Blue Devils in the afternoon. Emily Butler was stretched to three games at No. 1 singles (winning a 10-6 tiebreaker). The other five matches went in straight sets with Duwearatchi surrendering one game and Danielson just two. 

On the doubles side, the Pipers gave up just eight games total.

At night, Danielson, Duwearatchi, Gibson and Dennison doubled up again. Elizabeth Hughes, who teamed with Dennison for an afternoon doubles win, did so again against the Vikings. 

HU returns to action February 27 at St. Mary's.
