His best throw was his first. Hamline's Anthony Tyler finished in 18th place in the Discus competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Meet in Canton, NY Thursday. The only sophomore (and only MIACer) in the field, Tyler's first throw of 152-05 was his best in three tries. 

The spotlight turns to the women Friday. Erin Urbanowicz competes in the Hammer and Carolyn Saulsberry speeds off in the 100 Meter Hurdles prelims. Jessica Putland has to wait until Saturday for the Shot Put competition. Saulsberry competes in the Triple Jump and, if she does well in Friday's prelims, the 100 Meter final as well. The top finisher in each heat plus the next six best times advance to the 100 Hurdle final.
