Box Score One day after Brandon Zurn joined the Century Club for career points, his fellow Mahtomedite Charlie Adams resumed his climb up the statistical ladder. the senior center scored twice to move into a tie for 14th place all-time with 65 points in the Pipers' 7-3 loss to Concordia Saturday at Oscar Johnson Arena. The pair are tied with Matt Lemire of U Mass-Boston for the lead in Division III in points with 31 apiece. With his pair today, Adams (9) has 13 goals and 18 assists while Zurn, who gained his 101st career point Saturday, has 12 goals and 19 assists.
It was the bright spot of the day that saw HU fall behind 5-0 in the second period and get within 6-3 in the third before CC threw in the clincher. In addition to Zurn's pair, Chad Hennum also netted one for HU.
Hamline had the edge in shots on goal ina ll three periods and finished the game with a 44-34 advantage. The loss dropped them to 5-8-4 overall and 2-5-1 at the midway point of their MIAC schedule.
HU faces St. Mary's next weekend in a home and home series. Friday's game is at Oscar Johnson Arena (7:00 p.m.). Hamline defeated St. Mary's, 8-5, in the MIAC Hockey Showcase in Blaine at the start of the season. The two teams also meet in last year's MIAC postseason championship game in Winona. HU won that meeting as well, 4-2, to advance to the NCAA Division III tournament.
