Hamline University Athletics

Jamie Rubbelke is leading the Hamline softball team in more ways than one these days. The sophomore shportstop has been batting first or second all season. Her 38 plate appearances leading off an inning (and a .553 batting average) is far and away the most of any HU player.

Rubbelke has been leading in other ways.

She was named the MIAC Hitter of The Week for her 10-for-17 effort last week as HU defeated St. Benedict twice and split two games with St. Olaf. Her overall average of .432 is second best on the team and eighth best in the league. Her 41 hits ranks fourth overall in the MIAC. 

The Pipers are 14-13-1 overall and tied for third in the MIAC with an 8-4 record. HU has eight conference games this week in a bid to make the postseason playdowns May 2-3.
