Timing was everything last week for Andy Sammon. The Piper second sacker had six hits last week. And he got them at big times to keep Hamline's hopes alive for a postseason playoff berth.

Andy's heroics started against carleton on on April 22 when he singled home the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 7th to lift HU to a win. Three days later against St. Mary's, he did it again, lining a two out two RBI hit for a 11-10 11-inning win in the continuation of a suspended game. In the regularly scheduled game, his 9th inning single started a gamewinning two-run rally. He had hits in both games and made several spectacular plays in the field th enext day but HU dropped a pair of games at St. John's.

If the weather clears, Andy and his teammates will wrap up conference play this week with games at Macalester and St. Olaf. HU is 13-14 overall, 6-10 in the MIAC.
