The MIAC Cross Country meet is still a couiple of weeks away. But there is little doubt who is the unquestioned leader of the HU women's contingent. Andrea Haus has been doing what a senior co-captain should do -- lead the Pipers on and off the course as they prep for the Nov. 1 meet at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul.Â
Last weekend, Andrea led the Piper contingent that was competing at the St. Catherine Invitational. She finished in 17th place, negotiating the 4K course in a time of 15:23.66. She showed she can go the 6K route as well, coming in 34th at the Roy Griak Invite at the U of Minnesota, Sept. 27.Â
The Pipers run at the UW-LaCrosse this weekend. It is the final tuneup before the conference meet. Haus, the only senior on the team, has been working with the younger runners to get them in the right state of mind for the race. Leadership is something she does well. In addition to her CC duties, Andrea serves as co-president of Hamline's Student Athlete Advistory Committee (SAAC).
