Lynsey Reimer sure knows how to make an exit. In the final game of her college volleyball career, the Iowan was all over Hutton Arena, turning up 26 digs as Hamline outlasted St. Catherine, 3-2, October 31. The Pipers finished the season on a winning note with a 13-10 overall mark. They were part of a four-way tie for the final MIAC playoff spot with a 5-6 league standard. Unfortunately, they lost out on the criteria to advance to the postseason.Â
Still, it is the first time in nearly a decade that the pipers had recorded back-to-back winning volleyball seasons.Â
Reimer was a big reson why. She finished her career with 1,717 digs -- good for third on the all-time list. Her average of 5.10 digs per game tops all HU volleyball players ever.Â
Last year's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, she is expected to return to the All-MIAC team for the second year in a row. Her average of 5.99 digs per game ranks second in the MIAC and is likely to remain in the Top 15 nationally when those ratings come out later this week. (She missed the 6.00 mark by one dig.)Â
