Apparently, Connor Benson never gets tied.. After all, he has been going basically nonstop since school began last September. The Eagan, Minn. junior spent last fall running long and hard for the HU men's soccer team. He appeared in 16 games as a midfielder. His 1402 minutes played was the third most on the team. Benson has now moved from the field to the water. Last Saturday, he won a pair of races to help the men's swimming team finish first at the St. Catherine Invitational last Saturday.
Benson bested the field in the 100 Breaststroke in a time of 1:06.28. Later, he returned and topped all comers in the 200 Breaststroke (2:27.32). He capped a job well done bny teaming up with Joe Campbell, Jerry Daniels and Victor Lara to finish first in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Benson and his teammates have one last warmup prior to the MIAC Confernece meet later this month. That will be this weekend at a conference invite meet to be held at St. Thomas.
