The Hamline men's basketball team has won four of the past six games. And it is no coincidence that Dior Ford has had the hot hand in the same timespan. The senior has scored in double digits in all six of those games, including his first double double of the season (18 points, 10 rebounds) Â last Saturday in the Pipers' 68-58 win at Macalester. Add in his 19 points in the tense one-point win over Bethel and you have the makings of the MIAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.Â
The Arizona native, who passed the 1,300 mark for career points last weekend and has been a mahor presence on the court from the day he arrived here, ranks third in the MIAC Â this season in blocks (35), sixth in free throw percentage (.768) and eighth in points (14.5). Ford and his mates have a busy final two weeks of the season. They have three games this week, starting with St. John's at home Feb. 9. HU plays at Carleton on Wednesday, Feb. 11 and finishes with St. Olaf here on Feb. 14.Â
