Tom Larson was not to be denied last weekend at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field meet at Macalester. The Minnetonka, MN junior was on the run all weekend, winning the 100 & 200 Meter races, running the second leg on the winning 4 x 400 relay team and anchoring the 4 x 100 quartet that finished in third place.Â
He had a major role as Hamline recorded 138.5 points to finish in second place for the fourth time in the past six years. Larson lowered his school record by .01 when he conquered the 100 field in 10.73 seconds. Â
Tom blitzed the competition for the win in the 200 (22.12). Later, he took part in a thrilling relay win that saw the Pipers edge St. John's by a half second. He also anchored the 4 x 400 relay team that finished in third place.
Tom currently ranks nationally and is just .6 away from qualifying in the 100 Meters at the NCAA Division III meet to be held in Canton, NY later this month. He will try to qualify to compete in the 100 and 200 Meters for the NCAAs this weekend when he takes part in a meet at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.Â
