Jessica Putland conmtinued her terrific senior season last weekend at the MIAC Outdoor Track & Field meet at Macalester College. The Belleville, Wis. native unloadede the Shot Put 44-09 to finish second on Friday at the conference meet. (Teammate Erin Urbanowicz was fourth.)Â
On Saturday, she threw the Hammer 156-08, finishing third behind Urbanowicz. Capped with her indoor successes (first place in the Weight Throw, second in the Shot Put), it has been a terrific 2015 so far for Putland.
And it may not be over. Jessica currently sits 14th nationally in the Shot Put with a 44-11.5 effort at the Drake Alternative Meet a few weeks back. Â That would currently get her into the NCAA D-III meet next week in Canton, NY. But the margin is close.
Jessica, who also sits 41st in Hammer will travel with Urbanowicz (21st in Hammer, 21st in Shot Put) and Jerri Koltveit (49th in Discus) to Augustana (ill.) to compete in a qualifying meet there Friday.Â
