Alphabetically, Julia Zolnosky is the last name on the Hamline volleyball roster. But she is at the top of the list for players who made an immediate impact on the court.
The junior racked up 84 kills -- an impressive 4.67 per set ratio -- as Hamline went 3-2 in the first week of the season. HU took two of three in a tournament last weekend at Morris, Minn. Zolnosky had 43 kills and 25 digs in the three matches, earning a spot on the All-Tounament team. She hit a season high .205 in the Pipers' 3-0 loss to an excellent UM-Morris team.
Earlier in the week, she had a double double (season high 24 kills, 16 digs) in a match against another excellent UMAC team -- St. Scholastica.
Zolnosky and her teammates will be busy in the next week. HU host Martin Luther Wednesday at Hutton Arena (7:00 p.m.). They travel to Stevens Point, Wis. this week for four matches and finish it off with a road appearance on Monday, Sept. 14 at UW-Superior. The MIAC opener is Sept. 16 at Carleton.
