Jack Swanberg spent most of his Saturday night around a football. The 5-11 senior DB had five tackles in the secondary during Hamline's 42-35 loss to Gustavus before a large crowd of Klas Field. 

But that was just one of the many aspects of the LeSueur, Minn. native's game. Swanberg returrned a punt, intercepted and raised havoc all night on the special teams as the Pipers chased the undefeated Gusties all over Klas Field. 

Swanberg, who was named the MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week, blocked a field goal on the final play of the first halk to keep the game close at 28-21. HU trailed 42-21 in the fourth quarter when Swanberg broke through and blocked a GAC punt. Zach Schwalbach corralled the loose ball and tore into the end zone for a touchdown thatset the stadium into a tizzy. 

HU went for the onside kick and Swanberg beat everybody to the ball at the GAC 49. The Pipers marched in for another score but that was close as they could get. 

Swanberg and the Pipers have the week off. Hamline hosts St. John's for Homecoming on Saturday, October 3. Kickoff at Klas Field is 1:00 p.m.
