Austin Duncan was feeling better than he has in some time last Saturday. As a result, he made several Augburg defenders feel ill.
In his final appearance at Klas Field, Austin rambled for 154 yards and four touchdowns in hamline's 35-26 loss to the Auggies. The New Orleans, LA native added to his career records for touchdowns (34) and Rushing Yards (3,957). He will need just 43 Saturday at Carleton to crack the vaunted 4,000 barrier for his MIAC career.
Austin has been hampered by inuuries this season. He even sat out the game the week before at St. Olaf. But, with his parents on hand for the Senior Day tribute and the newest members of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame on hand to watch, Austin found the end zone on runs of 5, 4, 4, and 7 yards. His 533 yards rushing leads the Pipers in 2015.
On Saturday, he will play his last college game for HU at Carleton. The Knights will remember him well. As a sophomore, he carried the ball a school 49 times for a record 298 yards in an overtime loss.
Hamline takes a 3-6 overall mark into the 1:00 p.m. game at Northfield.
