Kayla Hennum plunged headfirst into the scoring swimming meet of the season last Saturday at Bush Pool.

And that was a very good thing.

The Bemidji, Minn. native was second in the 1 and 3-Meter Diving Competitions to help Hamline to a fourth place finish in the six team field. 

Hennum scored 186.85 points in the 1-Meter event and improved to 193.85 in the 3-Meter competition. In both cases, she trailed only Carissa Gaffy-Sanford of St. Benedict. 

The junior will look to continue ths strong start to the season this Saturday when Hamline competes at the Roger Ahlman Invite at Macalester's pool. The diving part of the meet will start at 9:00 a.m.
