It took her a little while to get going. But once Chelsey Bonsante found the range, there was nothing that UW-Stout could do about it.
The junior rifled in 29 points -- 23 in the second half alone in the Hamline women't basketball team's 86-63 loss to the Blue Devils in Menominee, Wis, November 24.
The outburst was just two points short of the Ironton, Minn. native's career high. Chelsey currently ranks second in the MIAC in points per game at 19.8. Her 33.8 minutes played ranks third among all conference players.
Bonsante wasted no time getting the new week off to a big start. She scored 20 points Monday night as the Pipers won their first game of the year, 83-55, at Crown, November 30.
HU opens conference play this week with road games at Macalester (December 2) and St. Catherine (December 5).
