Parker Johnson was a busy guy last Saturday afternoon. In his final home meet, the Deephaven, Minn. senior maded a big splash winning a pair of individual crowns and teaming up for a relay win as the pipers sunk their neighbor Macalester, 169-119.
Parker started off by teaming with Connor Benson, Logan Erickson and Derek Jones for a win in the 200 Medley Relay. the quartet finished in 1:40.41, six seconds ahead of another Hamline quartet.
After catching breath, Parker edged out teammate Cole Plumber by less than two seconds in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.70 seconds. (He already owns the seventh fastest time ins chool history, having swum 55. 88 last month.)
Parker capped his day with a win in the 200 Backstroke. Again, he was in battle with Plumber to the end. Parker's time of 2:07.79 was a second better than Cole's.Â
The men swimmers are idle this weekend. They return to action February 5-6 at the University of Minnesota Challenge.
