Zach Smith sure knows how to rebound from an injury. After missing the second of a game the week before with an ankle injury, the sophomore guard came back to score 60 points and add 15 assists as the Pipers went 1-2. In a 71-49 win at Macalester, Zach had 12 points and six assists in just 25 minutes of play.

Two nights later, he recorded a career high 25 points in a 91-82 setback at St. John's. He came back for 23 more and a game high seven assists last Saturday at St. Olaf. In that game, he was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. He is third in the MIAC in Assists (65) and fourth in Free Throw Percentage at .833.

Smith and the Pipers have two big challenges this week. Fortunately, both of the games are at Hutton Arena. Augsburg (11-8 overall) visits Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. game and league leader St. Thomas drops in Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
