For a freshman, Rosie Giese is getting the hang of college gymnastics quickly. The Texan stood tall last Friday as the Pipers tangled with UW-Eau Claire, falling by just three points. 

Giese helped the Pipers to a win in the Floor Exercise competition. Her score of 9.300 tied for third place led the HU contingent which went 3-3-5-6-7 in the event. 

She also had a fourth place effort in the Vault competition (9.200) and placed sixth on the Uneven Parallel Bars (8.850). The young Pipers have their next two meets at home. They will host UW-Stout at Walker Field House on Friday, February 5 (6:30 p.m.). Gustavus Adolphus is on the docket for Sunday, February 14. That meet will be in Hutton Arena and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
