Although it wasn't necessarily the original game plan, Hamline women's tennis player Jordan Danielson was able to be at practice from the first day of the 2016 season. A member of the Piper swimming/diving team in the past, Danielson had to reluictantly give it up when a combination of school work and jobs made it swimming too much to juggle.Â
Fortunately, the tennis schedule fit better -- and Hamline coach Jon Henning couldn't be happier.Â
The Maplewood, Minn. native became the first HU player to take a matrch from a St. Thomas player when she did so last Saturday.Â
And it wasn't just any old win. No, this was a win over Megan Noack at No. 1 singles -- a decisiont hat sent the latter to her first defeat of the season. It was a no doubt about it win. Danielson took it in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to improbe her recdord at No. 1 singles to 3-3.Â
A year ago, she was the lone woman's netter with a winning record when she went 10-9 at No. 2 singles. She has moved up a notch this year and, as last Saturday showed, she can win there as well.Â
