It didn't take long for Dana Almquist to get into the swing of things for the Hamline lacrosse team. The Stillwater, Minn. sophomore was still recovering from injuries suffered while playing hockey for the Pipers and wasn't ready to go whent the lacrosse season.

Syffice it to say she is ready now.

Almquist took over the team lead in goals with a six-pack effort Sunday in Hamline's 15-11 loss at Illinois Tech.  Dana now has 31 goals to take over the team lead in that department. Impressively, she has done this in just six games.

Sunday's outburst marked the fourth time this season Dana had scored six goals or more ina  game. Along with Maddie Brown (who has 29 goals and a team, high 41 points), she has formed a potent 1-2 combo for Hamline in its first year as a varsity contingent.

The Pipers are 5-5 in their maiden voyage. They return home to face Augsburg at Klas Field this Friday, April 15. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
