Question: Who has some of the fastest -- and surest hands -- in North Branch, Minnesota and St. Paul?
Answer: Hamline freshman volleyballer Morgen Coleman.Â
Coleman, a native of North Branch, had an impressive MIAC debut when she offered up a career high 45 assists and added 10 digs as Hamline opened their conference slate with a hardfought 3-1 win over Carleton. It was her fourth double-double of the season that sees the Pipers with an overall mark of 6-3.Â
Morgen's totals of 8.78 assists per set easily leads the Pipers and ranks as the third best overall in the MIAC. Her 11.25 average in the Carleton match (the lone HU action of the week) is easily the tops in conference activity. Her 86 digs ranks second on the Pipers to senior Amelia Jensen.Â
After a week off, Coleman and her teammates have a pair of conference matchups this week. On Wednesday, September 21, they trek to St. Mary's (13-1 overall) Â to face the Cardinals. On Saturday, September 24, they are back at 3:00 p.m. to tangle with Concordia. Both these teams made the playoffs in 2015.Â
