The women’s volleyball team had a busy weekend to say the least, as they played a span of three games in two days, resulting in a 2-1 record, with wins over Macalester and Martin Luther. One of the highlights of the weekend was the play of senior Julia Zolnosky, Brooklyn Park, Minn. native.
In the span of three games, Zolnosky, a senior, recorded a team high 51 kills, while also placing top three on the team in aces, and digs on the weekend. She currently has 161 kills on the year, which ranks 21st in the MIAC and is averaging an impressive 2.96 kills per set, which ranks fifth in the MIAC.
The Pipers who are currently 8-8 overall and 2-4 in the MIAC, will travel to St. Benedict (9-9 overall) on Wednesday, October 12 for a 7:00 p.m. start. The next home match for the team is Wednesday October 19, against Augsburg. The Auggies (12-6 overall) are currently in first place in the conference with a 6-0 mark.
