The HU women's soccer team is in the MIAC playoffs for the first time ever this week. Arendje Louter is a major reason why this is so. The Seattle, Wash. sophomore scored 1:57 into the second overtime Saturday to give the Pipers a 1-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus. After all the other MIAC games were concluded, Hamline's 5-5-1 conference mark was good enough for a sixth place tie with St. Benedict. Since HU won the head-to-head matchup between the two schools, the Pipers got the nod and will play at Augsburg on November 1 at 2:00 p.m.

This feat also grabbed the attention of the league's sports information directors and Louter was named the Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week. It is the first time a Piper has won this award since GK Erin Urbanowicz did so early in the 2014 season.

Louter has been on a scoring spree lately. Her goal Saturday marked the fifth time in the last six games she had found the net. Her nine goals and five assists ties her with Kaley Roberts for the team lead. Arendje is also tied for fifth in the MIAC in goals and tied for sixth in points with 23.

All that gets set aside now as Louter and the Pipers (11-6-1 overall) take on the Auggies in Minneapolis Tuesday. When the teams met on October 15, Louter had the lone HU goal in a 2-1 loss. She will be looking to do that again when ther Pipers play their first postseason game ever Tuesday.
