What a difference a year makes. Last season, Russ Jordan finished with one goal and two assists. In four games this year, he has tripled that point total and leads the MIAC with five goals and nine points overall. He is one of the reasons the men's hockey team is one of just two MIAC teams still undefeated at 3-0-1.
Russ had a six-point weekend as Hamline defeated St. Olaf, 4-1 and 5-4 in their first MIAC encounters of the season. In the first game, he had an assist on the game's first goal and scored what ended up being the gamewinner early in the second period. He later scored the goal that salted the game away in the third period.
The next night, he was a key factor in a four-goal third period uprising that propelled HU to the win. Russ had a pair of assists and then scored the gamewinner himself on a power play.
Jordan, who was also named the MIAC Men's Hockey AOW, and the Pipers take to the road this weekend for a pair of non-conference games. HU is at Wis-River Falls Friday and heads to Wis-Superior Saturday.
