Timing is sometimes everything. HU senior women's hockey forward Jessica Goldberg proved that to be true Friday when she corralled the puck on her stick and directed it into the net for the winning goal as Hamline improved to 2-1 on the season with a 4-3 overtime victory at Wis-Eau Claire. 

The Mendota Heights, Minn. native took a pass from Jaimee Nowicki for her first goal of the season and lift the Pipers to victory. It  was the eighth tally of her 63 game career at HU. (She scored five times in 2015-16.)  In addition to being a regular on the forward wall on the ice, Goldberg also played last spring for the Piper lacrosse team. 

Goldberg and her teammates now direct their attention towards the conference slate. Hamline opens MIAC pla at St. Olaf on Friday, November 11 in Northfield (7:30 p.m.). The same teams will face off again in St. Paul on Saturday, November 12. Game time at Oscar Johnson Arena will be 2:00 p.m.
