Darby Dodds has impeccable timing. The jujnior women's hockey player scored two third period goals Friday night to lift the Pipers past St. Thomas, 3-2. The winning tally came with just 92 seconds remaining in regulation time. It was the first Hamline women's hockey victory over the Tommies since 2007.

Dodds is now tied for the MIAC lead in goals with seven. Perhaps even more importantly, she is tied for the league lead in gamewinning goals with three. Her 11 overall points is tied for third in the conference. 

All of this work by the Byron, Minn. native -- who is in her first year here after playing for Lindenwood College--  has helped Hamline break off to a 6-3 overall and a 4-1 MIAC mark. The latter number places them in third place in the conference, two points behind co-leaders Augsburg and Concordia -- each of whom have played one more game than HU. 

Dodds and the Pipers have one more assignment before heading into final exams and a holiday break. HU hosts Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Wednesday, December 7 at Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
