If Hamline men's hockey goalie Justin Quale said he preferred playing at the Moorhead Sports Center rather than his home ice of Oscar Johnson Arena, it would be entirely understandable. As his efforts last weekend in helping the Pipers take three of four points, he is very sharp in that building. 

The MIAC SIDs were impressed and named Quale the Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. 

The sophomore stopper was superb last weekend, making 73 saves and allowing just three pucks in as Hamline took three of four points from Concordia in the latter's home barn. On Friday, Justin had a career high 47 saves in the 1-1 OT tie. (CC won the shootout to get the extra point.) The next afternoon, he made 26 saves -- including 10 in the third period with the game on the line-- as the Pipers gained a 4-2 win.  Hamline now has 13 points and is 4-3-1 in league play This places them in fourth place but they are one point behind third place Augsburg and just two behind second place St. Mary's. 

They will have a chance to do something about the latter this weekend. HU takes on the Cardinals in Winona Friday and again on Saturday at Oscar Johnson. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m.
