There was no place like home last Friday for Hamline gymnast Sydney Tribbett. The junior played a major role as the Pipers won their first dual meet of the season, defeating Wis-Eau Claire by a 183.100-181.800 count at Walker Field House.Â
The Kingman, Ariz. native is a leader on and off the mat. On the mat, she and teammate Darby Slater tied for second place in the Floor Exercise competition with scores of 9.45. Sydney also competed in the Balance Beam (9.350, fifth place) and the Vault (9.175, sixth place). Just as important is her leadership away from the meet, Â helping to guide the team's 13 freshmen and sophomores.Â
The Pipers  are back in action on Friday, February 10 when they head to St. Peter, Minn. to face Gustavus Adolphus. The meet begins at 7:00 p.m.
