Hamline University Athletics

The idea in cross country is to improve your time a little bit each week with the goal of peaking at the MIAC Championships at the end of the month. Hamline freshman Helen Dolan made major strides in this regard when she sloshed her way around the wet course at St. Catherine last Saturday, running the 5K race in a team leading time of 19:49.16. 

Despite rainy, windy conditions and a muddy track, the Massachusetts native chopped 30 seconds off her previous best time for that distance and helped HU to a third place finish against several of the same runners she will see at the end of the month in Northfield at the conference meet. 

Dolan and the Pipers have one more meet prior to the big show October 28. They will face an excellent field of Midwest schools  on Saturday, October 14 at Wis-LaCrosse
