Hamline Cross Country found themselves in Northfield last weekend at the MIAC Championship meet. Sophomore runner Frank Gustafson had a great showing in arguably the most important meet of the year.

The Spicer, Minn. native’s time of 26:13.2 earned him a 10th place finish at St. Olaf’s 8K championship course. His Top-15 finish will earn him MIAC All-Conference honors when the awards are formally announced. The 10th place effort is also the highest finish by any Hamline runner at the Championship race since 2012.  

As a team, Hamline scored 166 points which placed them in 6th place overall on the day, just 10 points behind fifth place Bethel. Gustafson and the rest of the Cross Country team will have their regular season finale November 3 at St. John’s. The race will be an 8K starting at 4:40 p.m.
