Scoring a season high (and two short of a career best) 19 points in last Saturday's 69-61 men's basketball victory over St. Thomas could qualify as enough for junior forward Isaac Brooks. But there is much more to be said about the Lakeville, Minn. native's efforts last week ... and so far this season.Â
14 of Brooks' points against the Tommies came in the second half as HU broke away from a 31-all halftime tie for the win to improve to 3-2 overall and even the MIAC mark at 1-1.Â
HU head coach Jim Hayes also singled out Brooks, who played a season high 33 minutes, for his defensive efforts as St. Thomas was held 14 points under their season average for scoring.Â
Three days earlier, Isaac scored 11 points in a 70-60 loss at Carleton. For the season, Brooks is averaging 13.8 ppg and is the only Piper to reach double figures for scoring in every game played this season.Â
HU has a pair of tough tests this week. St. Olaf visits Hutton Arena Wednesday, December 5 for a 7:00 p.m. game. On Saturday, December 8, the Pipers head to St. Peter to face Gustavus Adolphus in a 1:00 p.m. game.Â
