Zach Smith spent the last week of his Hamline men's basketball career doing what he does best: scoring points and causing opponents headaches all over the floor.
The Burnsville, Minn. native poured in 25 points and had five steals as the Pipers ended their home schedule with an 82-71 win over Concordia Wednesday night. On Saturday, he averaged a point a minute (24, to be precise) with six steals and six assists in a 98-72 triumph at St. Mary's.
The guard finished his hoop career sitting 11th all-time in HU hoop history in points with 1384. He is third in assists (348), seventh in steals (111), eighth in field goals (494) and three-pointers (92) and ninth in free throws made at 305.
Zach ended up second in the MIAC in Assists (108), Third in Free Throw Percentage (.864) and fourth in Steals (42).
He is not done helping HU win games. After a brief rest, Smith will trade in his gym shoes for spikes and take to the mound as a pitcher for the Piper baseball team.
