Jake Trondson is making a good first, second, third, fourth and fifth impression on the MIAC Men's tennis scene. The sophomore won twice on the weekend at No. 2 singles and is off to a 5-0 start in his first year on the team.Â
Trondson gave St. John's Tim Larson his first loss of the season with a pair of 6-4 decisions in Friday night's 6-3 loss to the Johnnies. The Mounds View grad got up early Saturday and blew away Wartburg's Sam Nettleton, 6-0, 6-2.Â
Trondson and his doubles partner, Matt Seracki, are 5-1 on the season at No. 1. The pair fell on Friday night to St. John;'s by an 8-4 count but came back the next morning for an 8-0 win over Wartburg.Â
The Pipers (4-2 overall, 0-1 MIAC) return to the court March 3 against Crown at the U of Minnesota's Baseline Tennis Center. The match begins at 11:30 a.m.Â
