Eric Dols has had quite a month of action. It started at the MIAC Indoor Track/Field meet. The Prior Lake, Minn. native won the Weight Throw competition and was third in the Shot Put. He was named the league's Field Athlete of the meet for those performances.
His efforts were also good enough to earn him a place in both events at the NCAA D-III Indoor Track/Field Meet March 9-10 in Birmingham, Alabama.Â
All Dols did there was win a pair of All-American honors, making him one of the few athletes in school history record four in his career.Â
The junior entered the Weight Throw competition rated 15th. He unleashed a 61-4 effort that placed him eighth and earned him the All-American award. As it turned out, Eric was just warming up. The next day, he finished fifth in the Shot Put with a 54-04.50 throw, this taking home another AA honor. This goes with the two he won as a freshman in the Shot Put (indoors and outdoors).Â
The track/field season now heads outdoors. Hamline is scheduled to participate in Tucson, Arizona, March 16-17. The first Minnesota meet is March 29 at St. John's.Â
