Jeremy Szura probably wishes the baseball season could go a little longer. The senior outfielder finishes his Hamline career last week on a hitting tear.Â
The Durango, Col. native whacked out hits in eight of his last 10 games to raise his season average to .271. He ended up leading the team in doubles (10), triples (2), sacrifice flies (4) and RBIs (21) was third in walks with 13. His final road game was one to remember. Szura severed a 5-all tie at St. Mary's with a bases-loaded double that plated three runs and sent the Pipers on their way to a 9-5 win.Â
The next day, he had hits in both games, scored once and drove in a run as the Pipers ended the season on an upbeat note with 2-1 and 5-1 wins over Carleton at CHS Field. In addition to his hitting prowess, Szura was perfect in the field this year with no errors in 44 chances.Â
