Number 1 on the Hamline lacrosse team was Number One in many ways in 2018. Lexus Tatge is a lot more than the first name you see on the women's lacrosse team's roster. She leads the team in goals (42), assists (28, second in the MWLC) and points (70). The junior was one of the big reasons Hamline is returning to the NCAA D-III women's lacrosse tournament for the second year in a row.Â
The Pipers, 15-4 overall, won their 13th game in a row Saturday, edging Augsburg, 8-7, for the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference postseason championship at Klas Field. Hamline will take on Illinois Wesleyan on Sunday, May 13 in Bloomington, Iliinois in a second round matchup.Â
Tatge has been a top gun all season. She scored five goals,in a game at Aurora has potted four on two other occasions. She also had assists in all but two games played this year.Â
Against Augsburg, Tatge opened the scoring with a goal six minutes into the game. In the second half, she scored to break a 5-all tie.Â
Tatge and the Pipers will be looking for more success Sunday against the Titans (15-4).Â
