At 5-7, Jackie Stubbs was far from the biggest player on the field last Tuesday when Hamline's women's soccer team entertained Macalester in the opening MIAC game of the 2018 season.

But she made the most important play of the game.

The Californian maneuvered her way into position and redirected Jensen Sevening's corner kick into the net at 1:41 od the second overtime to lift the Pipers past the Scots, 2-1. It was just the second goal of her college career but the timing could not have been better.

After going 26 years without a win against their neighbors, HU has suddenly won two in a row.

Things didn't go as well Saturday in a 2-0 loss at Carleton. As a result, Hamline is 3-3-1 overall and 1-1 in league action heading to a game at Concordia, September 22. But they know who to look for when they need a heads up play.
