Last Saturday, Ben Sorenson spent most of the afternoon making a pest of himself. The junior men's soccer forward was a constant presence around the Augsburg net. He attempted a team high four shots in all as the Pipers looked to erase a 1-0 deficit.

As it developed, the fourth time was the charm. The Farmington, Minn. native redirected a pass from Stefan Kinsinger into the Auggie net with roughly 11 minutes remaining to lift the Pipers to a crucial 1-1 tie in a game that went into two overtimes. It was Sorenson's first goal of 2018 and the eight of his three year Hamline career.

The point allowed Hamline to keep pace with Carleton for sixth place in the conference -- the final playoff spot. Both teams currently have seven points. Hamline is 5-3-1 overall.

Sorenson and his mates play twice this week. Bethel is at Paterson Field Wednesday, October 10 for a 4:00 p.m. game. The Pipers play at St. Mary's on Saturday, October 13 at 3:30 p.m.
