Sophomore volleyballer Megan Rubbelke has taken the old adage "It is better to give than to receive" to heart. The North St. Paul, Minn. native recorded the straight doubles-doubles of assists and digs as Hamline took two of three matches last week to improve to 8-10 overall. The eight wins already exceeds the final 2017 standard.
Rubbelke had a season high 45 assists and added 20 digs in a taut 3-1 loss to Concordia. Two days later, she did double duty with 40 assists and 19 digs in a 3-1 win over Finlandia and 43 assists plus 12 digs in a win over Martin Luther. Rubbelke, who has six double-doubles on the season, leads HU in both categories with 505 assists and 173 digs.
The Pipers will look for their first MIAC triumph of 2018 Wednesday, October 10 when they host Carleton at Hutton Arena in a 7:00 p.m. match. They wrap up a six match homestand on Friday, October 12 against North Central (Minn.). That is also a 7:00 p.m. start.
