When Frank Gustafson goes for a run, he goes farther than just around the block. The junior ran long and fast last Friday, winning the 1000 and 3000 meter races at the hamster Invitational at Macalester College.Â
The Willmar, Minn. native legged out the 1000 Meters in 2:33.79, the best time recorded this year by a MIACer in this event. Gustafson caught his breath and then handled the longer route in 9:00.17. he earned 20 points for the pipers, who finished second in the four team field with 160 points.Â
Gustafson and the Pipers continue their prep for the MIAC Indoor Championships later this month with a a pair of meets this week -- at St. Thomas on Friday, February 8 and at Carleton on Friday, February 9.
