It was a cold Sunday in Collegeville, Minn. But Hamline senior Mitchell Maday has played enough football in cold weather so he wasn't fazed in the least. Maday got the Minnesota portion of the outdoor track and field season off to an excellent start by winning the Discus competition at the CSB/SJU Invitational meet on the St. John's campus. The Alexandria, Minn. native threw 147-4, the top throw this year by any MIACer. It also ranks 33rd best in the country in the early going of the 2019 outdoor season. 

Maday also came in fourth in the Hammer at the same meet with a 151-6 effort. Maday and his teammates get to stay home this week. They will compete in the annual HU Invite at Klas Field on Saturday, April 6.
