Normally, a sixth place finish might in the Hammer event at a men's track/field event might not draw a lot of attention. But when it is a D-III thrower going up against D-I thrower at one of the most prestigious events in the country, that's a different story.

So it is that Eric Dols drew attention for his 200-3 effort last Saturday in Des Moines. Dols' throw was his best of the season and the second best throw all spring by any MIACer (and sixth best among all D-III throwers). It was the end of a busy week for the Prior Lake, Minn. native who was third in the same event at Macalester two days before with a 200-0 throw. Eric also placed sixth in the Shot Put at Macalester.

This week, Eric gets to throw at home in the annual Meet of the UnSaintly at Klas Field. it will be the last dress rehearsal for the MIAC Outdoor Meet May 10-11 at St. Thomas. Dols is the defending champ in both the Shot Put and Hammer.
