Helen Dolan wasted no time making a name for herself in the world of MIAC women's cross country. The team's elder spokesperson (there are no seniors on the Pipers and she is the lone junior) placed fifth in a 187 runner field in the season's first meet in Northfield last Saturday. 

The Holliston, Mass. native negotiated the 6K terrain in 23:26.3, eight seconds out of fourth and less than a minute behind the winning runner's time.

It was the first of three preps for the Pipers leading up to the MIAC meet on October 28, also in Northfield. Dolan and the Pipers hit the course again on October 4 in Colfax, Wis. .
