The HU men's soccer team has just played a scoreless tie with Northwestern and then found themselves down 1-0 at Bethel early in the first half last Saturday. That's when freshman forward Jake Sullivan took it upon himself to reverse a trend.
First, the Minneapolis, Minn. native took a pass from Lay Wah and deposited his first collegiate goal to tie the game at 1. The Royals inched ahead in the second half. Sullivan went from being a receiver to being a giver, teaming with Stefan Kinsinger to set up Ryan Pyle for a goal to tie game at 2. Â
With 9:30 left in the game, Sullivan fed the ball to Kinsinger who nailed the game winner as HU came away with a well earned 3-2 win to improve to 1-2 in the MIACÂ and 3-4-1 overall.Â
Sullivan and his mates have a pair of MIAC contests this week. On Tuesday, October 1, Carleton visits Paterson Field for a 4 p.m. clash. On Saturday, October 5, HU heads north top face Concordia.Â
