Joe Joyce certainly knee how to make a good first impression. Tne freshman worked his way up the ladder while competing in the St. Catherine Pentathlon October 11. 

Joyce started with a 19th place in the Backstroke (1:03.54). The Floridian improved two places in his next race, the Fly, placing 17th in 1:00. 75.

He then made a big leap, coming in third in the Im in 59.51 seconds. Next, he moved to second place in the Breaststroke in a time of 1:03.58. 

Joe finished his busy night by coming in 15th in the Freestyle race in 53.07. As a team, the men were second to St. John's with a total of 1119.50 points. 

Joyce and his mates will get to size themselves up against many conference foes this weekend when they compete at the St. Thomas Relays.
