Hamline University Athletics

It is probably a good thing that the Hamline women's swimming team has this weekend off. Jennie Dwyer could probably use the rest. The sophomore from Two Harbors, Minn. won swimming's answer to a marathon -- 1650 yard freestyle race  -- last Saturday in a dual meet with Macalester. 

Dwyer was in a head-to-head battle with Macalester's Tilly Bartelt. She finished in 20:22.41, eight aheads seconds of Bartelt. 

Later on, she caught her breath and came in second in the 500 Freestyle (5:53.23). She also placed fourth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:21.75).

The Pipers return to action December 6-7 at the Jean Freeman Invite at the U of Minnesota.
