The situation called for some instant offense. So HU junior Jordan Verleye went to work.

The Livonia, MI junior scored a pair of goals late in the first period Friday night to erase an early Marian two goal lead and help the Pipers on their way to a 3-2 win -- their first triumph of the season.

The Sabres struck first the next afternoon as well but Verleye responded in kind to tie the game at 1. Later, with HU clinging to a one-goal advantage, she fed Chelsea Koehn for a goal and Hamline went on to record a weekend sweep with a 4-1 win.

Jordan leads Hamline in points with eight (five goals, three assists). Her four PP netters is tied for the league leads in that important area.

Verleye and her mates have one series remaining before breaking for the holidays. They play Bethel in Blaine Friday night and at Warner Coliseum Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
