Tyler Gonzales picked an excellent chance to have another scoring streak. The Californian scored his first college goals in back-to-back games in early November. He did so again last weekend to help the Pipers gain their first win of the season, 2-1, over Bethel, December 7.
In the opener of the series, Gonzales' third period goal cut a 2-0 BU lead in half. Hamline threatened some more but couldn't get the equalizer.
The next night, Tyler struck the first blow of the game, connecting on a power play 8:55 into the game. The Royals tied the game up but Dan Bartkowiak snapped the tie in the third period to lift HU to the win.
Gonzales' outburst moved him into a tie for the team lead in goals with four. Hamline, 1-8-1 overall, will face its alumni Friday, December 13 at Oscar Johnson Arena (6:30 p.m.) They will play their final game before the holodays the next night, hosting UW-River Falls in a 7:05 p.m. affair.
