Rachel Usgaard's timing was impeccable. The junior stepped up with 15 points -- including several at crucial times -- to help the Piper women's basketball team to a 82-71 win at Macalester Saturday. She also grabbed five rebounds and had an assist, a steal and a block as Hamline made it three wins in their last four games.Â
It was her second best scoring effort of the season (she had 16 against Caltech in late December) and pushed her season point total to 113. She also moved into second place in Free Throw accuracy with a .694 mark (25-36).Â
Usgaard and her court comrades have a busy week on tap. They are at St. Thomas on Feb. 3 and then return home for games against St. Kate's (Feb. 5) and Bethel (Feb. 8).Â
